Featuring the Vietnam War child survivor Kim G. Nguyen-Martin

With her debut inspirin novel Rising From The Fall, Kim G. Nguyen-Martin

Kim G. Nguyen-Martin was born in a small village known as Ben Tre located in Vietnam where she grew up till her early teenage life. Though she lived most of her early life in the village, she spent a few years in the city of Saigon with her grandmother before relocating to the United States of America. It is in the U.S where she studied and currently, living and working there as an American citizen through Naturalization.

She has education and training in various specialties such as Business Accounting in 1995 at the Fairfax County Small Business Development Center, attended the Estee Lauder Personal and Enrichment Program from Vassar College in 1987 and Fashion Merchandising, a certificate she attained in 1984. Between 1983 and 1995, she acquired various skills and knowledge in skin care, applying makeup, merchandising, sales techniques as well as display of products.

Kim has worked for several companies and even ran her own that did well, before being hit by the Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans where her business operated. From June 1984 till March 1995, she worked as an Estee Lauder line manager at the Woodward and Lothrop store in Tyson’s Corner. From then till December 1997, she worked as a store manager at the Bath and Body Works, although she also worked part time in her own company, LTS Corporation, which she started with her husband in 1994.

In 1997, when her company was stable, she worked full time on it as its founder and CEO with the majority of shares. She worked in this position till 2008 when the Katrina storm destroyed everything she had in New Orleans, including her company. In November 2004 to July 2005, she worked part time at Nordstrom Pentagon City and between March and November 2010, she also worked on a part time basis at Sony Retail Tyson Center. From April 2009 to-date, she is working as a consultant and director of business development at SINEW Management Group.

Away from her career and professional life, Kim is also a mother to a son named Christopher who serves in the U.S Army. Her experiences in life inspired her to write this book and in addition to vast experience, she has also achieved so much during her lifetime.
